by official training through Light University of Virginia Life Coach Training and Certification Program. But long before my certification I have been living the preparatory life for a successful Life Coach. Here’s why: In addition to my earlier experiences, after leaving Citi Bank in Jamaica I went into Industry as Executive Vice President of a large plastic products manufacturing company. I led that company out of Receivership and later left, still remaining a Director, and started a career as a livestock farmer. My aim was to help the Country preserve and or earn foreign exchange by reducing importation of food or exporting products that earned foreign exchange. In the process I became closer to the Prime Minister and served as advisor to several Cabinet Ministers. I became a Director and Chairman of several companies, both privately owned and government owned. Concurrently I developed my livestock farming business into a multimillion dollar enterprise.

To clearly communicate the distinction between coaching, counseling, pastoral counseling, discipleship, psychotherapy and other support professions.
To refer clients to another support professional as needed.
To set fees for services that are fair, customary and reasonable according to the services contracted and time performed. The coach avoids all deception, confusion, and misrepresentation about fees, inability to accept insurance, and financial relationships with clients and client systems.
Coaches clearly identify their credentials, qualifications, level of training and certifications, and make potential clients aware of the nature and limitations of the coaching relationship.
Represent knowledge of the regulations and guidelines as outlined by the State and follow them.
Not to engage in romantic or intimate activities with those to whom support is currently being provided or have provided in the past two years.

Coaches will maintain the confidentiality rights of those with whom they work or consult.
Coaches will not discuss confidentiality in any setting unless privacy can be assured.
Coaches discuss confidential information only for appropriate professional, consultative or scientific purposes, and only with persons clearly concerned with such matters.
Coaches will only disclose confidential information if the client or legally authorized individual has given express written consent.

Coaches will make early referral to a Mental Health Professional or an Emergency Service Professional on recognizing situations in which a client may put their own safety or wellbeing at risk or that of others, and in severe situations the coach will contact a Mental Health Crisis Service or Emergency Service on behalf of the client.
Coaches will notify the appropriate authorities when a client discloses that they are harming or endangering another individual or group. The coach will also attempt to notify the individual or group that is being harmed or endangered. The coach does not need to discern if a mental health problem is present, or in fact if the current or imminent harm is illegal.
The client understands that information will be held as confidential unless he states otherwise in writing, except as required by Law, to include: if he becomes a danger to himself, or to someone else, if he abuses a minor or some elderly person, or if he is involved in a court case against his coach.
